Sounds like you had not experienced a Tales game that is more dodge/evade focused than block and combo focused? The evasion focused combat is more to how I play, so it fits me more naturally, but I know a ton of people who pour way more effort into combos than I could ever care to.Ĭomplete the story for the characters, not the actual story itself. I actually like the characters better in Zestiria and the combat reminded me a lot of Graces, which I think is the best combat in the series. I am under the impression that it is a distant prequel.īerseria certainly has less flaws than Zestiria. Will I like Berseria if I hated Zestiria?. Does it get better? I finally "unlocked" the ability to free run at all times, which makes combat less hellish, but I genuinely dislike the plot so far. I had also bought tales of Berseria at the same time, thinking that I'd never played a tales game that I didn't like. I'm running around aimlessly trying to get the mystic artes and I hate it. One's perspective on good story changes a lot in that time. I'm also 10 years older than I was when I played Vesperia. I enjoyed Vesperia because of how complex Yuri was. Main character is a bland mary-sue whose moral dilemmas are really low-level. I genuinely hate the combat, and I think the story is bad. I don't care about frame rate or whatever, so that's not my gripe. I grabbed Tales of Zestiria on Steam and have been playing it. I dropped off around Xillia, because I never got a PS3 or 4. I played every tales game from Legendia to Vesperia and enjoyed them. Hi, I was looking to get some input from some other fans of the series.
